Tanzania Wants to Increase Clove Exports to Indonesia

The Tanzanian Minister of Investment, Industry and Business, Ashatu Kijaji, met and held discussions with the Ambassador of Indonesia Tri Yogo Jatmiko, at the ministry offices in Dodoma city on promoting business and investment cooperation between Tanzania and Indonesia. Minister Kijaji assured the ambassador that Tanzania is ready to continue cooperation between the two countries and is ready to enable investment projects especially in the agriculture sector in increasing the value chain of cloves and other agriculture products to increase employment and income to Tanzanians. In 2020, Tanzania exported USD 34.9M in cloves. The main destinations of Tanzanian cloves exports were India with USD 23.8M followed by Indonesia with USD 5.59M.
