Tasmanian cherries are gaining popularity in Vietnam due to their unique qualities. Unlike mainland Australian cherries, Tasmanian cherries are not irradiated, preserving their crisp texture and contributing to their increasing popularity among Vietnamese consumers.

Additionally, Tasmanian cherries are competitively priced compared to their New Zealand counterparts during W3. At the Thu Duc wholesale market, the price of Tasmanian cherries for size 26 to 28 stood at around USD 63 per 5 kilogram (kg). Meanwhile, New Zealand cherries stood at USD 70 to 75/5kg. This favorable price difference enhances the attractiveness of Tasmanian cherries in the Vietnamese market, contributing to their growing acceptance and recognition among consumers.
