Tea Production to achieve a milestone in 2021.

Bangladesh is on the way to achieve annual production of 100 million kilo of tea in 2021. In 2020, Bangladesh produced 86.3 million kilo tea. Tea estates in Bangladesh grew more than 12.3 million kilo each month from June to October this year. The rate puts the possibility of reaching the 100 million kilo milestone within touching distance. As per Bangladesh Tea Board, such yields have been possible due to higher-than-normal rainfall. The weather is accepted to be favorable for production till the end of this year.

The demand for tea is going up every year. The Tea Board said the demand was 86 million kilo in 2017 when Bangladesh produced almost 79 million kilo. It rose to 90.45 million kilo in 2018 before climbing to 95 million kilo the following year.
