In the winter of 2021, the South-Eastern region of Italy, Apulia, has experienced very unstable weather patterns. In particular, the unexpected hot weather in February has awakened crops, causing an earlier than usual sprouting of early-maturing crops. However, this week, temperatures have dropped significantly, and some crops have experienced freezing. This drop in temperature has caused damages to crops, in particular to some early varieties of apricots, namely Mikado variety, and nectarines including Patagonia and Early Bomba varieties.
