Thai Ginger being packed more than indicated to offset shrinkage

It is a general trend that Thai Ginger producers and repackers constantly pack more ginger (weight) than indicated in cartons for export. This is to offset the shrinkage and loss of humidity that could possibly affect total weight of the products during transit.
