Mangosteen imported from Thailand is currently available in Vietnam at significantly reduced prices during W20, ranging between USD 2.16 to 2.56 per kilogram (kg), contrasting with the local variety from Binh Duong Province. This price decline is primarily attributed to an oversupply situation, resulting in a departure from the typical pricing range of USD 3.93 to 7.86/kg. Despite the lowered cost, merchants at Ho Chi Minh City's Xom Moi market in Go Vap District report that the imported mangosteen is of superior quality this 2024. Moreover, the daily sales for some vendors range from 30 to 50kg, with a clear preference observed among consumers for Thai mangosteen over the local variety.
