The agricultural campaign of cashew nuts 2020/2021 in Mozambique has officially initiated this week. For this cashew nut season, experts predict production and commercialization of over 100 thousand tons of cashew nuts. Due to the high levels of production expected the end of the season is predicted to end between March and April. However economic shocks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic have caused volatility in cashew prices, which has reduced the capacity of processors to purchase a large part of the raw cashew nuts they require to produce.
