The City of Manta in Ecuador Getting Ready for the Mahi Mahi Season

Manta fishers and exporters are eagerly preparing for the strong fishing season of Mahi Mahi, which will start in October 2022 and last until March 2023. This fish locally known as "Dorado", is one of the top 5 seafood frozen products exported by Ecuador with shrimp, tuna, swordfish, and mackerel. In 2021, Mahi Mahi's FOB export value reached approximately USD 90 million, and exporters expect to surpass that value this season.
