The price of paddy rice in Southern Ghana is up by almost 11% after harvest due to the rising input costs of rice production. Some rice farming areas are also getting submerged due to heavy rainfall this season, affecting the yield. These two factors are contributing to the price increases of rice in the market. A bag of paddy rice which sold for USD 30/85kg in May sells for USD 35/85kg at farm gate in W36.
