To improve the production output of chili pepper in Indonesia, the central government has instructed the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia to diversify the planted commodities in National Food Estate in the Central Borneo province by planting chili pepper using the available lands in the region, with an allocated area of 2.5 KHa.

Such initiative was taken to spread the production facility of chili pepper to all islands in Indonesia, so that supply is not so centralized in one region. The measure was also viewed as necessary to better control the fluctuation of chili pepper prices in the national market.
