Very recently, Indonesian exporters successfully exported another batch of breadfruit to the USA. This shipment of 23 MT of breadfruit in December 2020 has also brought the total export volume of breadfruit to around 300 MT so far in 2020. This record is viewed as quite an achievement since breadfruit has gradually lost its market share in the national market, as the national consumers prefer to consume other types of fruits. In recent years, breadfruit itself has emerged as one of the excellent snacking alternatives among the younger consumers segment, due to the fact that it can be a healthier choice for snacking while also enabling people to keep their calorie intake in check.
