The First Auction in Toyosu Market Japan was held in W1

On January 5, 2023, the Toyosu Market, the biggest fish market in Japan, held its yearly New Year's auction. 53 bluefin tuna, including 9 of the 200kg class were auctioned. A 212kg bluefin tuna from Oma, Aomori Prefecture, was purchased at a high price of JPY 36.04M/fish. At the Toyosu New Year's tuna auction, the price of the highest priced "Ichiban tuna"(No.1 Tuna) attracts attention every year.
