First Catches of the Season in Trabzon, Turkey After Fishing Ban Lifted

Following the lifting of the fishing ban in Trabzon, Turkey, the Pazarkapi fish market has welcomed the first catches of the season. These catches encompass a range of species, including horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus), haddock (Merlangius euxmus), bluefish (Pomatomus saltatrix), and sea bream.

Currently, horse mackerel prices range from USD 3.73 to 4.67 per kilogram (TL100 to 125), and haddock from USD 2.8 to 3.73 (TL75 to 100), while sea bass is trading at USD 5.60 (TL150), and both bluefish and sea bream at USD (7.47 (TL 200). Prices are expected to decrease in the coming days as sea water temperatures cool.
