The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation believes that this year agricultural production may increase by 1% against 4.3% in 2019. Agriculture is expected to grow slightly this year, due to the fact that production is almost not responded to the coronavirus crisis because they simply did not have time to revise the sowing parameters, only in the poultry industry production slightly subsided against the background of weak growth in demand. In addition, a larger grain harvest will be harvested this year than last year, capacities and output in the dairy sector and pig breeding have increased, but the gross harvest of oilseeds and sugar beets will decrease, so at the end, the growth in the agricultural sector will be small - about plus 1%.
