The canned fish and canned sardine business in Indonesia has been one of the agricultural sectors that have shown positive growth so far in 2020. Amid the coronavirus pandemic that slowed down some of the key agricultural sectors, canned fish and sardine has now booked a solid 4.1 MMT in demand, both from the national and export market, which is 300 KMT more than its record in the previous year or around a 7.8% growth in the span of one year, which has also exceeded the government's expectation in terms of growth by 3%. This sector has experienced a good year in 2020 as most customers prefer something that can be prepared quickly and rather practical to cook.. This is especially true as people have been staying home more than usual with the backdrop of COVID 19.
