The high demand for fresh water in Morocco

Now that the seawater desalinization plant in Morocco is operational, a huge demand for freshwater from farmers in “Chtouka Ait Baha” is noticed wherein the demand exceeds the supply. This is driving the price of freshwater to MAD 5/cubic meters (~ USD 0.56/cubic meter).
