Indonesian President Joko Widodo is not happy with the way Government owned importer (BULOG) handle the supply chain for food products concerning food stability in Indonesia. Despite taking over Buffalo meat import and adding almost 100,000 ton of buffalo meat from India, the price of meat especially beef is still high and at around USD 8.3/kg. He suspects foul play within the organization and will open the import license and quota to several private owned company to help stabilized the meat market price at around USD 6/kg. Indonesia is trying to decrease its dependency towards Australian Beef and will try to invite other countries to export their beef/buffalo meat to stabilize the price.
