Throughout W50, the prices of Colombian red globe grapes increased in 16 of the 17 local markets where the product was available. Merchants report this behavior was due to reduced harvest in the areas of cultivation of Yumbo, La Unión (Valle del Cauca), and to the increase in the commercialization of the fruit during W50. For example, in Manizales, the price ranged at USD 1.81/kg, 20.42% more than W49. The demand for imported red globes grapes is rising due to the lack of availability for Christmas.
