The National Society of Industries (SNI) noticed a 40% drop in fishing shipments for human consumption during the first half of 2020, falling from US$ 764 million to US$ 460 million, compared to a similar period in 2019.
According to the chairman of the SNI Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture, Alfonso Miranda, this was due to the fall of the world markets for fishery and aquaculture products.
