The price of seedlings in Tien Giang province have increased sharply after the historic drought

After the historic drought in 2020, many areas of fruit trees in Tien Giang province have died, so the demand for seedlings to restore the garden is high. Therefore, the price of seedlings increased significantly, which was approximately 2-5 times higher than that in the same period last year. Specifically, the price of the sapodilla and jackfruit seedling is nearly 4.29 USD/seedling while durian seedling costs over 5.15 USD/ seedling. Besides that, grapefruit, longan, apple, and coconut seedling price from 1.50 to 2.14 USD/ seedling. Currently, authorities and professional branches of Tien Giang province are organizing seminars and guidance for local farmers to redress the garden after drought and recommend plants that can cope with drought.
