The price of Moroccan argan seeds continues to rise. The drought during the 2020/2021 season and the invasion of foreign cosmetic companies competing to invest in argan seeds might explain this price rise. The price of argan seed had previously ranged from USD 0.32 per kilo to USD 0.43 per kilo during 2020/2021. In contrast, the price is set at USD 1.40 per kilo at this point in time. The rise in the price of argan seeds has resulted in an unprecedented spike in argan oil price, which reaches USD 48 per liter, while the price was USD 25 per liter at the beginning of the year.
