The price trend of watermelon in Central Indonesia region following successful harvest season

Following the harvest season of watermelon in the Central Indonesia region in early September 2020, the price of this commodity at some of the biggest wholesale market across Indonesia has shown a downward trend in the past week. In the past week, the price of watermelon across this region was down from IDR 30.000/Kg to around IDR 28.000/Kg, with the lowest price in this region is reported in Bali and Nusa Tenggara at IDR 25.000/Kg. The main factor for this price dip is the abundant supply of this commodity in the market due to a successful harvest season this year. On average, the wholesale markets in this region can be supplied with 10 MT of on a daily basis. The harvest season of watermelon itself is expected to last until the end of October 2020.
