Huge demand of Indonesian packaged coconut water in Malaysia

Despite strong competition from Malaysia when it comes to the export of whole coconut and coconut-based products, Indonesian manufacturers can still regularly export packaged original coconut water and value-added coconut water to Malaysia. As a reference, the manufacturer in Riau in Sumatra can export around 40 MT of coconut water/month which then would be distributed to the modern retailers in big cities in Malaysia such as Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. The packaged coconut water products from Indonesia is particularly liked by the consumers in Malaysia due to its taste and practicality, and due to its relatively long shelf life, without using excessive food preservatives.
