Rising price of freight and shortage of containers affect the Ethiopian exporters

The recent increasing trend of freight costs and the apparent shortage of shipment containers is forcing Ethiopian exporters of agricultural commodities such as sesame and kidney beans to avoid long term and larger volume contracts with their international buyers.
In the past 5 weeks alone, The cost of freight has more than doubled and the availability of shipment containers has diminished significantly.
