The status of macadamia production in Kon Tum province

In Kon Tum province, the macadamia tree has been planted since 2012. Up to now, the total area of the macadamia tree has reached about 350ha and is divided into 2 areas: Tay Truong Son with 60ha, yield 3 - 5kg dry nuts/tree, and Dak To with 222ha, yield 20-30kg dry nuts/tree. On average, the price of macadamia nut ranges from 4.31 - 6.46 USD/kg. Furthermore, Kon Tum province said that they had the potential to develop and expand the area of macadamia trees to 1,000ha by 2025. Therefore, it is forecasted that in the next 10 years, macadamia could bring about 1 billion USD for Vietnamese export.
