Global White Rice Prices Rise After India's Export Ban

The global white rice market witnessed a price surge following India's ban on rice exports. As of August 9th, jasmine rice is priced at USD 806/metric ton (MT), glutinous rice at USD 911/mt, 5% broken white rice at USD 648/mt, and premium quality Thai Hom Mali rice at USD 1,056/mt.
