Sugar Prices in Egypt Plummet in May-24 Due to Increased Imports and New Season Production

The price of sugar in Egypt decreased to USD 788.67 per metric ton (mt) on May 24, down from USD 1065.87/mt in Mar-24. This decline is due to a high volume of imports from various sources and the beginning of the new season for sugarcane, leading to increased manufacturing at sugar beet refinery factories.
