Forecasts indicate that Turkish tomato paste prices in the international market will increase towards the end of 2022 because of a shortage as the Turkish government imposed export restrictions to ensure domestic supply. Traders and processors are trying to find alternative sources to import tomato paste from in the global market. Chinese-origin tomato paste appears to be the best option for Turkish traders and processors. It is speculated that in the first month of 2023, a tariff quota on tomato paste imports could be announced.
