Turkey Exports 60% of the World’s Dried Figs in the 2021/22 Season

Turkish dried figs completed the 2021/22 season with 71,000 MT of exports to 102 countries, with European countries leading with a 51% share in exports at USD 258M. Exports to the United States increased 2.3% YoY to USD 53M, followed by exports to APAC countries that increased 5.6% YoY to USD 30M. Exports to Middle Eastern countries increased 19% YoY to USD 17M, followed by exports to the Turkish Republics and Slavic countries at USD 9.8M. It is expected that the yield and quality of dried figs will be high in the 2022/23 season, and the expected harvest volume is around 75,000 MT.
