Globally, chickpea crop yields are forecasted to decrease by up to 20% this year. This decrease may be caused by bad weather conditions, lack of fertilizers, and the current situation between Russia and Ukraine.
Turkey may remove the export restrictions for chickpeas that were announced in March to be able to export a new crop of chickpeas by using its advantage of geographical location. Freight costs are favorable for EU and Middle Eastern countries.
