Turkiye’s Lentil Demand Increased Due to Recent Disasters Such as Earthquakes, Floods, and Drought

The robust lentil harvest in India was one of the main reasons for the expected decrease in demand for Turkish red lentils. However, In Turkiye, fears of dry weather since 2022 and the recent disasters are pushing buyers to buy, which is keeping domestic demand active. Many companies stated that they have over 100,000MT of cargo loaded for Turkiye and believe that there is another 100,000MT waiting for March and April.
