Turkish and Iranian Red Delicious Apple Shipment Arrivals Into Indian Markets

Most Turkish pack houses/suppliers have concluded their loading of Gala apples for the Indian markets this year and now shifted their focus to the Red Delicious (RD) apple variety. The first loadings of Turkish RD have already commenced for the season 2022-23. Iran will also begin loading the RD variety by mid-October. The first shipments of RDs from Turkey and Iran are forecasted to arrive in India by the first week of November. Additionally, it has been noticed that many of the major Turkish suppliers have reduced their credit exposure with the Indian importers by decreasing or stopping the line of credit for this season due to several cases of credit default, which happened last season. Suppliers are mostly negotiating based on the payment term of 50/50/0 with the Indian importers.
