Turkiye’s Aquaculture Exports Increased by 4% In 2022 to USD 1.6B

240K MT of aquatic products were exported from Turkiye in 2022, resulting in a gain of USD 1.6B. Accordingly, exports increased by 4% in quantity and 17% in value compared to 2021. Sea bream, sea bass and Turkish salmon took the lead in Turkiye's aquaculture exports to 96 countries. Sea bream earned USD 372M for 71K MT, sea bass earned USD 504M for 65K MT, and Turkish salmon earned USD 363M for 50K MT. Russia, Italy, and the UK were the main export destinations. In 2022, USD 298M of fishery products were sold to Russia, USD 171M to Italy, and USD 159M to the UK.
