Turkish consumers prefer Costa Rican pineapples

Pineapple is a significant import product for Turkey and most of the Turkish pineapple imports come from Costa Rica. The smooth cayenne pineapple from Kenya is not preferred because its outside color is not vivid and consumers mistakenly assume it as a low-quality product because they are used to the vivid MD2 variety pineapples from Costa Rica
