Turkish dried apricot export to Europe is increasing despite higher prices.

The apricot season officially starts when government allows the first export of every year. This year, it was from October 6th to November 6th. The aforementioned period was the first month anniversary of dried apricot 2021 crop. Compared to the same period of 2020, dried apricot export to Europe slightly increased. In the first month of 2020 season, export volume was 9,500 MT, USD worth 42.7 million, while the volume reached 9,700 MT, worth USD 45.5 million in the corresponding period this year. While quantity growth rate is not high, considering price inflation, the upward trend in export value is noteworthy. Slovakia showed the biggest increase rate in demand, which imported 700 MT of dried apricot from October 6th to November 6th and became the 4th biggest market following traditional markets, Germany, Italy and France.
