North America usually is not a big market for Turkish dried grapes since the USA produces raisins and can distribute them to other markets. However, due to a bad crop in 2021, the USA imports raisins from Turkey. Between September 2021 to the middle of January 2022, the USA imported over USD 450,000 worth of raisins from Turkey, which is 10 times their regular import only reserved to the Turkish Sultanas. Similarly, Canada is also increasing their importance from Turkey since the USA cannot fulfill their demands.
