Turkish pasta manufacturers ask for the elimination of quota in the European Union

Turkish pasta manufacturers are suffering from the quota for Turkish pasta in the European Union and request the removal of this quota which is hindering Turkish exports to the region.

Turkish pasta exports are subject to a 20 kmt annual quotas to the European Union. Turkey is an important pasta exporter in the global trade with an export volume of 1,300 kmt and 610 million USD however the country only exports 25 million USD worth of pasta to the 3.7 billion USD pasta market in the European Union.
