Turkish sunflower seed importers seek alternative exporters instead of China

Turkey imported around 1,240 KMT of sunflower seed in 2020 and China remains the most important sourcing destination for Turkish importers. However, due to the recent hike in the freight costs from China to Turkey, the cost of the imported sunflower seeds from China became too high for the Turkish importers. As a result, Turkish importers are seeking other sourcing destinations to fulfill the market demand. The United States is one of the alternative destinations they are looking at.
