Uganda Exported 6.26M Bags of Coffee in 2021/22, an Increase of 3% YoY

Coffee exports from Uganda for the 2021/22 season totalled 6.26M bags worth USD 862.28M, compared to 6.08M bags worth USD 559.16M in the 2020/21 financial year. This represents a YoY increase of 3% in volume and 54% in value. Italy maintained the highest export market share at 40.25%, followed by Germany at 11.34%, Sudan at 10.35%, India at 7.42%, and Morocco at 4.82%. Additionally, Arabica coffee exports increased by 62.77% and 174.46% in volume and value, respectively, due to the on-year cycle characteristics of arabica coffee production in the country.
