UN says half of Lebanon at risk for food shortages

According to UN officials, if the Lebanese government doesn't step up their efforts to restore the grain silos, the situation might get even worse with food shortages and endanger access to staple food.
The country has been suffering from economic hardships for some time already and this current year's inflation rate is expected to exceed 50% compared to 2.9% in 2019.
The country imports around 85% of the food products and the lack of the major silos at Beirut port might lead to a crisis in price hikes.
