Uruguay among the top 10 exporters of soybeans

In Uruguay, the agro-industrial sector represents 82% of the total exported goods. For the past 11 years, Uruguay managed to position itself as the sixth soybean exporter in the world. The total exported volume in 2019 was 3M tones (slightly less than the total amount produced nationwide), amounting to USD 1B. Uruguayan soybeans reached 15 markets in 2019, among which China has remained the main export destination. Particularly, in 2019, it was the destination of 78% of the total exported soybeans, for a total of USD 777M.
