In Uruguay, the agro-industrial sector represents 82% of the total exported goods. As for Rice, one of the country’s most exported products, in 2019 it ranked ninth worldwide -in terms of volume - and was, together with Brazil, one of the main exporters in Latin America. In 2019 this crop was the second agricultural export product of the country with a value of USD 371M. The main destination markets in 2019 were Peru (22%), Brazil (12%), Mexico (12%) and Cuba (10%).
