According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the United States (US) imported 76,369 tons of shrimp in Oct-23, a 9% year-over-year (YoY) increase. This marks four consecutive months of growth in shrimp imports after 13 months of decline. However, despite the positive volume trend, the import value reached only USD 609.7 million, a 4% YoY decrease. This is due to a decline in shrimp prices, with the price dropping to USD 7.98/kg, a 12% YoY decrease when the prices stood at USD 9.08/kg.
