US sorghum acres declining

US planted acres of sorghum have been steadily declining over the past 5 years after a 5 year period of rapid growth from 2011-2015. The primary cause for the decrease is ongoing trade disputes with China, the world's top importer. Now that the Phase One Deal has been signed between the two countries and sorghum prices have strengthened, it will be interesting to see if number of planted acres increases in 2021.
