USDA peanut estimate sees a 24% rise

The USDA's updated September estimate has US peanut production at 6.79 billion pounds, up 24% from 2019, and up 9% from the previous forecast. This is welcoming news for farmers who saw increased demand for peanuts and peanut butter this year but had their supply limited by high aflatoxin levels. The current estimate shows record yields in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi.
