The Brazilian market prefers Navel oranges, which have a higher Brix content. Valencia oranges have a similar taste but lower Brix and higher acidity and were first introduced by Uruguayan orange producers years back but with a lower acceptance. Egyptian Valencia oranges have a good quality with bigger calibers, similar to Navel oranges which has made consumers try the product. With the 2023 crop, buyers see a better acceptance of Valencia oranges in the market than in previous years.
