As of 2023, the General Department of Customs in China has approved over 800 Vietnamese companies as eligible seafood exporters to the Chinese market. Notably, 40 packaging facilities for crab and lobster and five for prawn and white-leg shrimp have been allowed. In addition, China has issued 128 product codes covering 48 different aquatic species related to Vietnam's seafood industry. This demonstrates significant recognition and authorization for Vietnamese seafood exporters, facilitating their access to the Chinese market.
