According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the United States (US) imported nearly 4.4 thousand tons of blue swimming crab and red swimming crab from Jan-24 to Feb-24, reaching USD 108.6 million. This marked a 20% year-over-year (YoY) increase in volume and a 56% YoY increase in value. Indonesia emerged as the leading supplier to the US, providing nearly 2 thousand tons of crab valued at USD 52.6 million, capturing 45% of the US market share. Vietnam, on the other hand, was the primary supplier of red swimming crab (Portunus haanii) to the US, exporting 510 tons valued at USD 11.2 million. This represented a 2% YoY increase in volume and a 27% YoY increase in value.
