SPS Vietnam Signals Potential for Vietnamese Pomelo in Australia

The Vietnam Sanitary and Phytosanitary Notification Authority and Enquiry Point (SPS Vietnam) has indicated a potential opportunity for Vietnamese fresh pomelo to enter the Australian market, contingent upon compliance with Australia's biosecurity standards. This development follows a notification from the Secretariat of the SPS/WTO Committee No. G/SPS/N/AUS/588 outlines the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry's import risk analysis for Vietnamese pomelo. To be eligible, Vietnamese pomelo must meet rigorous biosecurity requirements targeting 19 specific pests and criteria regarding cultivation zones, packaging, and manufacturing facilities.
