The translucent post-larva disease (TDP) infection in Vietnamese shrimp hatcheries has led to the import of a large volume of broodstock from Hawaii. It is expected that by mid-May 2024, there will be enough shrimp seeds for some shrimp farms in Ninh Thuan and to meet 30% of the demand in Kien Giang for shrimp seeds. As a result, there is a significant shortage of shrimp seeds in Vietnam during Mar-24, leading to a lack of shrimp supply in the market. This shortage is expected to cause a sharp increase in shrimp prices soon.
